A metallurgist with over 30 years’ experience across South Africa and Australia, George has advanced through roles including Plant Manager, Concentrator Manager, and Production Manager at companies like De Beers, Newmont, and MMG. After successfully leading Bluestone’s Continuous Improvement function since 2024, George Rautenbach has been appointed Manager Maintenance. In this role, George is responsible for managing the planning and execution of all maintenance activities to safely deliver Bluestone’s annual production requirements in line with plan and budget. Building on his strong foundation in continuous improvement, he continues to champion safe production through values-based leadership, strategic clarity, and team development.
Arie Bets is a Chartered Accountant with 28 years’ experience, primarily in the resources and professional services sectors. Prior to joining BMTJV in 2025, Arie held executive and senior management roles within private and listed companies and brings strong commercial and financial leadership experience across strategy, business planning & analysis, contracts, commercial & risk management, mergers & acquisitions, financial management, treasury, tax, shared services and information technology
Justin Resta is a minerals processing/metallurgy specialist with over 27 years’ experience gained across a broad range of production, commissioning, research, development, commercial laboratory, engineering, and management roles. Justin joined BMTJV in 2018 and his role is to develop and deliver on future development and growth opportunities to optimise the value of the Renison Mine.
Colin Carter is a Geologist with 20 years of operational geology and management experience. Colin joined BMTJV in November, 2008 as a Senior Mine Geologist and was promoted in 2021 to Manager Resource Development and Planning. Colin manages the framework and processes for long term mine planning activities, developing and delivering the annual Life of Mine Plan, reserves and budget.
Carl von Savageri is a Mining Engineer with 22 years of experience in the mining, construction and energy industries. Carl joined BMTJV in November 2021 as Manager of Projects and Business Improvement and his role sees him accountable for managing capital investments in the Renison operation, identifying opportunities and implementing systems to improve ways of working.
Matt Finney is a HSE Manager with 19 years of mining experience. Matt joined BMTJV in July 2018 as Site Safety Coordinator and was promoted to HSE Manager in 2019. His role sees him accountable for the standards for safety, health, and environmental management to ensure compliance and leading safety & cultural improvement initiatives across the site.
William Oats is a Minerals Processing Engineer with 14 years of operational, projects and management experience. Bill joined BMTJV in August 2021 and his roles sees him accountable for the processing plant, laboratory work, tailings dam and surface water management.
