Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture is continuing to closely monitor the bushfires affecting much of the West Coast.
The situation remains dynamic, with changeable weather conditions and an ongoing threat of ember attacks to both the Renison mine site and Zeehan township.
The safety and welfare of our valued staff and contractors continues to be our number one priority.
Based on the best available information, the Incident Management Team has resolved to keep the mine closed until at least Sunday (February 16).
The Zeehan town camp is also closed to all but essential staff.
We will reassess the timeline for resumption of operations on Sunday afternoon based on the advice of emergency services.
