Last week we celebrated one of the best to come through Bluestone and the mining community of Tasmania. Our supervisor of Underground projects, Tasman is hanging up his boots after 42 years in the mining industry and we couldn’t be prouder to have been part of his journey!
From a UG nipper with Renison Gold Fields Consolidating (RGC) at 18 years old, Tasman has worked his way up the ladder at a variety of mines around Australia. Since his return home to Bluestone in 2019, Tasman has been working as a UG truck operator and supervisor whilst sharing his invaluable knowledge on capital investment projects and site upgrades, always supporting the Bluestone team, culture, and company vision.
Tas has been friendly face for all our crews over the years and will be a greatly missed personality and hard worker on site. We are so proud to have been part of Tasman’s career at many different stages and wish him well in his well-deserved retirement!
Tas was given a personalised helmet as his farewell last week, a permanent reminder that he is welcome on site anytime. From all of Bluestone, thankyou Tasman!
